One of several conceptual projects I have been involved with, on this occasion requiring a visual representation of proposed landscaping, and how it would relate to existing features and buildings. This project required the acquisition of many reference photos and detailed measurements of the real location to enable accurate recreation within the computer. |

Once all the existing features had been recreated and accurately placed, work began on implementing their landscaping proposals. This included the construction and placement of features such as seating areas, flower beds, trees, paving and a summer house. Having the entire environment recreated in this way provided the advantage of simulating any lighting condition, from dull overcast days to high contrast sun and shade.

Using an accurate sun motion simulation, it was possible to observe where shadows would be cast throughout the day, which aided in the appropriate placement of certain features. This environmental simulation would not have been possible using the more popular method of superimposing renders over photographs. Using more comprehensive methods to digitally recreate the whole area, enabled the view to be rendered from any angle or distance, providing complete flexibility.
